India Forum for Improving Workplace Standards in ICT Electronics - launch meetings
Globally ICT Electronics Industry has shown high growth trend over the past few years. The manufacturing of ICT Electronics is taking place all over the globe in countries with low labour costs and India is being considered a target destination of ICTE manufacturing. There are a variety of innovative products which are in the market at present rapidly changing with the changing trends making technology obsolete. While this sector is on a high growth curve, are we observing greater corporate social responsibility to match up with the growth? This is a key question raised by the following group of stakeholders who have come forward to form a multi stakeholder forum to raise pertinent issues regarding corporate accountability in particular the ways in which the quality of lives of hundreds of workers engaged in this sector is being impacted.
