June 25, Procure IT fair is organising an international workshop in Prague reviewing the efforts for fair procurement of computers in different countries. Sustainable Procurement is an instrument for the improvement of working conditions in the supply chain of IT companies. Public institutions which buy a great amount of IT equipment can demand compliance to certain labour standards from companies supplying them. Potentially, this is a strong instrument to make companies accountable for violations of labour rights.

On the workshop we will review the progress regarding implementation of socially and ecologically oriented procurement in Europe, discuss possible instruments and learn about possible strategies.

The workshop is open to labour right organisations interested in public procurement, public procurement bodies interested in labour rights and others. Please register before June 12.
