Nearly 1000 Vietnamese workers for the Korean electronics company Bluecom Vina started a strike on April 11 after the Korean directors ignored their pleas to increase wages and reduce working hours. Bluecom is subcontractor to companies like Foxconn, LG and Motorola.

The workers said that there are no official working hours in the factory. While they have to show up at 8 a.m. every morning, the managers decide when they can leave. This can be as late as 10 p.m. Workers receive very little compensation for the overtime they are forced to make.
