Earlier this year, RESOLVE was commissioned by the EICC and GeSI Extractives Workgroup to create a transparency model by mapping the supply chain for tin, tantalum, and cobalt. RESOLVE has prepared an initial interim report and accompanying supply chain graphics. The purpose of issuing this status update is to encourage broader stakeholder review, dialogue, and input on initial findings. Stakeholders can provide input by identifying key suppliers that have not been reached through tracing, tracking, or other research; and by providing alternate contacts for companies that have not responded to RESOLVE’s survey requests.

Earlier this year, RESOLVE was commissioned by the Electronic Industry Citizenship Coalition (EICC) and Global e-Sustainability Initiative (GeSI) Extractives Workgroup to create a transparency model by mapping the supply chain (i.e., identifying companies from original equipment manufacturers down to the mine) for tin (solder and solder paste), tantalum (capacitors and deposition targets), and cobalt (batteries and magnetic recording media) used in electronics.

RESOLVE has prepared an initial interim report and accompanying supply chain graphics to share the approach, status of research, challenges, and next steps to address these challenges. The purpose of issuing this status update is to encourage broader stakeholder review, dialogue, and input on initial findings.

You are invited to log in and view the interim report and supply chain graphics online at , and to share your comments via the online discussion board.

Stakeholders can provide input by identifying key suppliers that have not been reached through tracing, tracking, or other research; and by providing alternate contacts for companies that have not responded to RESOLVE’s survey requests.

RESOLVE also welcomes the support of stakeholders who have relationships with suppliers and can encourage involvement of those companies who have not participated in the survey. We plan to update information to the graphics at this site on a regular basis.
