The GoodElectronics Network is happy to welcome four new members: Suthila Luenkam and the ITF Worker’s Union from Thailand, the Advocates of Science and Technology for the people (Agham) from the Philippines, and Nicki Lisa Cole from Austria. A brief introduction:

Suthila Luenkam

Suthila Luenkam from Pathumtani (Thailand) is an officer at the Arompongpangan Foundation. She composes a labour review newsletter and organises, supports and aims to solve the labour problem in the Rangsit Worker Group. Also, Suthila collects data of workers in every industry and assists in collecting data for research work.

ITF Worker’s Union

The ITF Worker’s Union from Chonbure (Thailand) is concerned with integration and collective negotiations. Besides that, ITF aims to help and protect workers’ rights and functions as a consultant for negotiating. They want to work together with GoodElectronics on the issue of labour rights violation by Sony Thailand.

Advocates of Science and Technology for the People (Agham)

Agham from Metro Manila (Philippines) is an organisation of patriotic science, technology workers and advocates working towards advancing science and technology for the people. It focuses on the following concerns: environment, public utilities, scientific and mass culture, national industrialisation, food security and self-sufficiency.

Nicki Lisa Cole

Nicki Lisa Cole from Styria (Austria) is a public sociologist who focuses on global production and consumption, and is currently writing a book about the popularity and hidden costs of Apple products. She is a research fellow at the Institute for Advanced Studies on Science, Technology and Society in Graz, Austria, an interdisciplinary organisation that brings together researchers with common interests to foster necessary policy change.
