What does the GreenScreen Practitioner course include?

  • Two course components:
    • Advanced Topics course*, including:
      • Twelve hours of live, interactive, participatory web-based instruction with leading toxicologists
      • Applied assignments that each participant presents and discusses with the teaching team and class
      • Ample opportunity for questions and answers
    • Practicum:
      • Two comprehensive GreenScreen assessments on chemicals of your choice must be completed
        • The first assessment is completed in sections, concurrent with class topics
        • The second assessment is completed independently
      • Both assessments are carefully reviewed, with detailed feedback provided by our expert toxicologists and trainers
  • Experience evaluating and using a wide variety of data sources to develop robust hazard assessments
  • Expert one-on-one coaching
  • Small workshop format
  • Varied perspectives from a teaching team of some of the most experienced GreenScreen practitioners in the world

* The Advanced Topics course may be taken without the Practicum, but participants choosing this option are not eligible to become Authorized GreenScreen Practitioners

Application

Applicants to the GreenScreen Practitioner Program must qualify and be accepted into the program. Applicants may or may not have formal training in toxicology, but should have experience and familiarity with evaluating chemical hazards. Participants who successfully complete the course are eligible to become Authorized GreenScreen Practitioners.

There are two parts to the GreenScreen Practitioner Program: the Advanced Topics Course, via live web-based classwork, and the Practicum.  Both are required for licensing.

  • Total time commitment (class, practicum, and homework) = ~120 hours*
  • $5500 USD for both the Advanced Topics and Practicum.
  • $2500 for Advanced Topics Course only

*The bulk of the time is spent performing two full GreenScreen assessments.  The time to complete each assessment is highly dependent on participants' prior experience and expertise.
