Earlier this month, complaints from workers revealed that labour conditions were very harsh. Bad ventilation and humidity led to high temperatures, causing at least 8 people to faint. One person had to be brought to hospital by ambulance.

Furthermore, workers have complained about compulsory overtime and intimidating management.

Pegatron is a Taiwanese company working for Apple, HP and Dell. The establishment in Breda is mainly focused on repairing Iphones and was opened in April this year. Around 500 people are working there, mainly temporary workers.

Dutch union FNV Bondgenoten was denied access to the highly secured premises and contacted the labour inspection. The labour inspection now gives Pegatron 3 months to take care of fresher air, more drinking water and longer breaks.
