The GoodElectronics network welcomes two new members: the Labour Education and Service Network (LESN) located in Hong Kong and the Taiwan Association for Victims of Occupational Injuries (TAVOI) from Taipei City, Taiwan.

LESN is an independent NGO established in Hong Kong in October 2001.

Its goals are to:

-enhance workers’ knowledge, awareness and capacity in defending labour rights and occupational health and safety issues.

-assist workers defending their rights through legal consultation and legal aid.

-cultivate co-operation and solidarity among workers through participatory activities.

-help rural job seekers understand their rights and possible support networks before they migrate to the cities.

TAVOI was founded in 1992, for the purpose of organizing all the occupational accident victims and their families to help themselves and also each other. Utilizing everyone’s own experience to form a net of information, through collective efforts and actions, injured workers can urge both the government and employers to take measures to avert industrial accidents and occupational diseases. TAVOI not only handles more than 100 cases and serves more than 2,000 people, but also provides legal consultation, psychology consultation and job research assistance every year.
