Phone Story is an educational game about the dark side of your favorite smart phone. Follow your phone's journey around the world and fight the market forces in a spiral of planned obsolescence. Phone Story was banned from the App Store only hours after its release on September 13th, but is available at the Android market.

Phone Story is a game for smartphone devices that attempts to provoke a critical reflection on its own technological platform. Under the shiny surface of our electronic gadgets, behind its polished interface, hides the product of a troubling supply chain that stretches across the globe. Phone Story represents this process with four educational games that make the player symbolically complicit in coltan extraction in Congo, outsourced labor in China, e-waste in Pakistan and gadget consumerism in the West.

Keep Phone Story on your device as a reminder of your impact. All of the revenues raised go directly to workers' organizations and other non-profits that are working to stop the horrors represented in the game.

70% of the app store revenues go to the developers. We, molleindustria, pledge to redirect this money to the organizations that are fighting corporate abuses. In addition, we ask festivals and art institutions that are interested in exhibiting the game to contribute to the cause instead of paying artist fees. The first recipient will be SACOM Students and Scholars Against Corporate Misbehavior, a group that have been strenuously working on the Foxconn case.
