IBM workers in Argentina are fighting for union freedom, democracy, decent wages an end to outsourced labour contracts. IBM workers in Argentina are fighting for union freedom and decent work. Throughout the month of May, IBM workers have been denouncing the low wage level, the insufficient pay rise in 2009, the increasing percentage of outsourced labour, and, last but not least, the anti-union policy of IBM Argentina.

Cepetel, a trade union of information and communication technology workers has organised a series of activities to point out the concerns and demands of its members.

In 2009, salary increases did not go beyond a meager 0-3%.  Over 60% of the IBM labour force is outsourced. Cepetel strongly denounces this practices as labour fraud. Cepetel criticises the anti-union policy that IBM has put in practice. Further, the problems of the 'Proyecto Dali' and the 'Velazquez' workers are brought under the attention, as well as the IBM night shift regime and excessive overtime.

Workers have expressed their strong willingness to continue fighting for decent wages and the end of the outsourced contracts.
