Apple employees at a Maryland store made history as they voted to unionise. The group named their union The Coalition of Organized Retail Employees (CORE). A majority of store employees voted to join the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers, or IAM. The IAM which assisted the union called it a “historic victory” for labour.
The mall-based retail store outside of Baltimore is the first Apple location in the US to unionise. CORE’s tweet on June 29 announced that the group has officially received their union certification.
