ILOVEFOXCONN is an interactive mockumentary and touch game for iOS and android platforms in the making. It features a virtual tour of an electronic manufacturing plant, modeled after Foxconn, hosted by the CEO, where you play an investigative journalist covering recent allegations of the plant's extreme working conditions. will explore the grounds of the plant, interview employees, and question the CEO on the inner workings of the facilities. Back this project to bring about an app that is as feature-rich, content-packed and fun as possible while at the same time shedding some light on current global issues.

ILOVEFOXCONN is an interactive mockumentary and touch game for the iOS and android platforms. It features a virtual tour of an electronic manufacturing plant, hosted by the fictitious CEO Terry Goo, where you, as a newspaper reporter, will explore the grounds of the plant, interview employees, and question Terry Goo on the inner workings of the facilities. At different areas during the tour you'll be able to participate in mini games developed to mimic the jobs associated with the ILOVEFOXCONN process. You'll assemble your own i-phone, oversee a shift in an i-pad warehouse as a floor manager, be a part of internal security helping employees reach their destinations safely and securely, and enjoy the same freedoms and lifestyle of employees after-hour activities."

Back this project to bring about an app that is as feature-rich, content-packed and fun as possible while at the same time shedding some light on current global issues.

ILOVEFOXCONN, the app, is a progressive reaction on the subject of globalisms effect on human morality from the perspective of the relationship between western and state run capitalism. Its aim is not to single out companies or specific persons but to explore the way we perceive and react to the consequences of our materialistic tendencies and basic needs.

We spent a few months pouring over the news coverage of recent company ethics issues. Some of it lavishes the heads of these corporations with praise and their humanitarian efforts while downplaying the events, such as worker exploitation and abuse, that had created news initially. Other efforts took us into the factories, sometimes covertly, only to come back with a completely different and much less positive perspective on current conditions. It seemed only then that some action was taken to change the process of which those products were made. We felt that there was an opportunity to give these issues greater exposure to a broader audience that wasn't catered to by the type of news they're used to viewing. So we're taking these opposing viewpoints and combining them into an interactive story with a casual gaming twist.

ILOVEFOXCONN, the game, is a mixture of casual gaming, adventuring and interactive storytelling. Think of it as a particularly damning episode of Southpark or Family Guy in which you play a part and decide the outcome. In story mode you play as an investigative journalist sent by Americas top news center to cover recent allegations of ILOVEFOXCONNs extreme working conditions. You'll tour the facility with the factorys CEO, fictitious character Terry Goo, and be able to interview him beginning with "predetermined" questions. As you progress through the story your questions may change depending on different courses of action you choose. There are four (so far) different "casual" games that you are introduced to during your tour that resemble different areas of the factory. Each of these games touches upon a different issue we've encountered during our research. When you've completed the main "quest" these games will become available to play at your leisure. If time and money permit, there may be 2 other games included.

We feel that many of the games for touch platforms have been lacking in originality and substance. We'd like to make this app as feature rich, content packed and fun as possible while at the same time shedding some light on current global issues. This is an area of mobile gaming that really hasn't been attempted before. With your help we feel the outcome may be something truly unique and exciting. And of course the more of a kickstart we receive the greater the outcome will be.

This project will only be funded if at least $8,000 is pledged by Monday May 9, 11:56pm EDT. Find here the link to crowdfunding kickstart page and make your pledge.
