The Electronic Industry Citizenship Coalition (EICC) and the Global e-Sustainability Initiative (GeSI) are hosting the Eleventh Conflict-Free Minerals Supply Chain Workshop on 8-9 May 2013 in Hong Kong.

The workshop will feature plenary session panels and breakout sessions on topics including updates on North American and European regulatory efforts, tools to support conflict-free sourcing, reporting, and smelter and downstream company due diligence. Please see the workshop materials web page for the current draft agenda.

Companies from all sectors as well as NGOs and government representatives addressing responsible minerals sourcing are welcome; representatives from non-EICC or -GeSI members are encouraged to participate to share challenges and lessons from their sectors.

Mandarin-English simultaneous translation will be available for all plenary sessions and one of the three concurrent breakouts.

Workshop costs are $550 for companies and industry association representatives, and $275 for NGOs, academia, and government. Companies that are members of the EICC and GeSI Extractives Work Group may register for one reduced rate ($275) ticket, with any additional tickets at the full rate.

Venue and Logistics

Workshop check-in and a sponsor open house will open at 12:00 on Wednesday, 8 May, with the workshop commencing at 13:00. The program will conclude at 17:30 on Thursday, 9 May.

The workshop will be held in Hong Kong at the InterContinental Grand Stanford Hong Kong (70 Mody Road, Tsimshatsui East, Kowloon, Hong Kong SAR, and PRC). Note as you make travel and lodging plans that there are two InterContinental hotels in Kowloon, and specify the Grand Stanford. We have worked with the workshop hotel to secure a reduced accommodation rate for a limited number of rooms. In most instances (including for US citizens), travelers should not need a visa solely for the purpose of attending this workshop in Hong Kong. If you are in need of a visa, you can contact Grant Feichtinger (EICC) at [email protected] for help with obtaining a sponsor letter.
