On February 28 and March 1, 2017, SETEM Catalunya organizes the Mobile Social Congress in Barcelona as an alternative to the Mobile World Congress. The Mobile Social Congress will focus on the impact of activities in the supply chains of electronics in the Global South and alternatives to monopolies and exclusion in telecommunications.
Workshops and panel discussions will be organized during the congress around six themes:
– Conflict minerals in DRC
– Violations of labor rights in factories
– E-waste dumps
– Corporate oligopolies
– Free software
– The commons
GoodElectronics will participate in the panel of ‘Violations of human and labor rights in factories of electronics producing regions: flexible work and other limits to freedom of association’, of February 28 at 19.00 o’clock.
