Honda partner with the Chinese battery producer Contemporary Amperex Technology (CATL), to increase its share in the global electric car market.
The partnership aims to develop battery technology for use in a new electric car, which will be introduced into China by 2020.
The announcement comes as China promotes electric vehicles to tackle urban pollution. Government policy already subsidies electric cars with Chinese produced batteries, giving producers like CATL a boost in the Chinese market.
