Microsoft and the United Nations High Commissioner of Human Rights have agreed on a five year partnership to “better predict, analyze and respond to critical human rights situations,”.
The software company and the UN will develop a technology that will enable to “better predict, analyse and respond to critical human rights situations”. Microsoft will contribute five million dollars to a grant of the UN Human Rights Office.
The two partners are committed use the power of technology to protect human rights. This partnership is also an example of the important role that private actors have to play in preventing human rights abuses.
