The Sustainable Trade Initiative (Dutch acronym IDH for Initiatief Duurzame Handel) has launched a website that shows what has been accomplished over the past five years in the Chinese electronics industry. The site explains the multi-stakeholder approach of the initiative.
According to their website IDH "...accelerates and up-scales sustainable trade by building impact oriented coalitions of front running companies, civil society organizations, governments and other stakeholders that will deliver impact on the Millennium Development Goals 1 (poverty reduction), 7 (safeguarding the environment) and 8 (fair and transparent trade). (...) With a €155 million co-funding grant from the Dutch, Swiss and Danish Governments, IDH runs public-private, precompetitive market transformation programs in 18 sectors."
The GoodElectronics Network will evaluate the IDH Electronics Programme in the near future.
