Nexperia: stop union busting!

GoodElectronics urges Nexperia to immediately reinstate 4 leaders of Nexperia Philippines Inc Workers’ Union and end union busting

We are deeply alarmed by ongoing violations of trade union rights at Nexperia Philippines, which undermine workers’ fundamental rights and tarnish your commitment to fair labor practices.

On December 17, 2024, four NPIWU-NAFLU-KMU union officials, including the president, were unlawfully dismissed amid collective bargaining negotiations. This, alongside earlier actions like the April 2024 layoffs of 54 workers and management interference in a union strike vote in July, demonstrates a disturbing pattern of trade union repression.

These actions violate Philippine labor laws, International Labour Organization (ILO) Conventions 87, 98, and 95, and Nexperia’s own code of conduct supporting freedom of association. Despite workers successfully securing reinstatements in October, management continues to reject fair negotiations, including a modest wage increase demand.

We urge Nexperia to:

  • Reinstate dismissed officials with full benefits.
  • Commit to good-faith negotiations.
  • Respect international labor standards.

Immediate action is essential to restore trust and uphold workers’ rights.
