The ‘gold in your hands’ petition is part of a campaign initiated by the Stop Child Labour coalition, asking electronics companies to take action against child labor in gold mines.
The campaign informed over 1 million people about the human rights abuses in gold mines. Electronics companies should use their influence to stop child labor in their supply chains.
As a result of the campaign, 563 children have been taken out of gold mines in Mali and are now back in school. Stop Child Labor works closely with parents, teachers, employers and village chiefs to give all children a chance.
