The University of Groningen is the third Dutch university to affiliate to Electronics Watch. Electronics Watch aims at improving working conditions in electronics supply chains by calling on public buyers to source responsibly.
Public buyers, such as universities, are large consumers of electronics and ICT hardware. They can use their leverage to commit electronics companies to respect labour rights and safety standards. The University of Groningen aims to promote sustainability in its teaching, research and business practices and aims for 100% responsible procurement.
