Original question as formulated in the survey: Do suppliers of EICC member companies provide comprehensive health and safety training to workers?

EICC self-score: Chemical Challenge Gap Analysis - Green (No gap)

EICC justifies this score by referring to the VAP Protocol C3.2, which states that workers who work with hazardous substances are provided adequate and effective training.

GoodElectronics and ICRT score: Chemical Challenge Gap Analysis - Yellow (Small gap)

The language in the EICC Code and VAP Protocol about training sounds good, but no definition is provided for what ‘adequate and effective training’ actually means. Also, neither the Code nor the VAP Protocol offer methods for transparency about or for verification of the content, the quality or the lasting results of such trainings during a VAP audit. Moreover, there is no question of independent monitoring of any of this.
