Original question as formulated in the survey: Do EICC member companies have a policy in place that clearly states that all workers throughout their supply chain have the right to collectively bargain over working conditions (including health and safety protections)?

EICC self-score: Chemical Challenge Gap Analysis - Green (No gap)

EICC justifies this score by referring to the Code and to VAP Protocol A7.2.

GoodElectronics and ICRT score: Chemical Challenge Gap Analysis - Yellow (Small gap)

GoodElectronics and ICRT disagree with this assessment. Both the EICC Code and VAP A7.2 limit the right to bargain collectively by basing it in local laws rather than on International Labour Organization (ILO) labour conventions. Local laws, unfortunately do not always sufficiently protect and respect the right of workers.
