Korean Lawyers for Public Interest and Human Rights (KLPH) is comprised of nine lawyers and two staff members dedicated to ensuring human rights through the law. KLPH is a non-governmental, non-profit organisation and was established in February, 2012 by six lawyers in Seoul, Korea.
It has focused on specific areas of human rights law, including disability, sexual orientation and gender identity (SOGI), business and human rights, and freedom of assembly. KLPH also protects and supports the advocacy of human rights defenders.
The mission of KLPH is to achieve full recognition of human rights including minorities and defend human rights victims by business activities through litigation, legislative advocacy and education.
