On July 2, a Global Day of Action in support of 24 sacked union leaders will be held. The day is organised to call on the giant electronics company NXP Semiconductors to bring back the 24 union leaders in its plant in Cabuyao, the Philippines, who were fired during negotiations for a collective bargaining agreement. In support of the Global Day of Action, a factsheet and short video were released.

The day is organised to call on the giant electronics company NXP Semiconductors to bring back the 24 union leaders in its plant in Cabuyao, the Philippines, who were fired during negotiations for a collective bargaining agreement. In support of the Global Day of Action, a factsheet and short video were released.

The Global Day of Action aims to highlight the condition of the NXP workers in the Philippines and of workers in export-processing zones in the Philippines and other countries.

The day is co-organised by the Kilusang Mayo Uno, an independent labor centre in the Philippines promoting trade unionism. NXP Semiconductors Cabuyao has a workforce of 5.000 people.
