Apple will provide around 400 repair centers in 25 countries with its proprietary machines for repairing cracked iPhone screens.
By the end of 2017, it will be possible to fix your broken iPhone screen at a regular repair shop. Currently, this is only possible in an official Apple Store or authorized third-party repair center. Apple restricted the use of the repair machine and controlled its repair network closely. This changed as eight states in the U.S. launched ‘right to repair’ bills that aim to open the controlled repair networks and make it easier for customers to repair broken iPhones. This will encourage customers to repair their devices and reduce the amount of e-waste.
