News about the suicides among the Foxconn labour force in China has also reached Mexico. The Mexican media pointed out that Foxconn also has factories in Guadalajara and other cities in Mexico, and it was suggested that the conditions for workers there are not significantly better than in China. The main difference is that the Mexican Foxconn workers do not live in dormitories on the company's compound, but go to their respective homes after their shift where their suffering goes unnoticed. Mexican workers demonstrated their solidarity with their Chinese colleagues in front of the Foxconn offices in Guadalajara.

The Mexican labour rights group CEREAL endorses the statement by GoodElectronics and makeITfair, and has presented it to the press in Mexico on June 8th. A Spanish version of the statement is available.

On that same day, a demonstration took place outside of Foxconn buildings in Guadalajara, of Mexican workers expressing their solidarity with their colleagues in Asia.
